Educational Websites
There are many educational websites, but a couple that have come to our attention and are worthy of mention are www.freerice.com and www.starfall.com FreeRice is a non-profit website run by the United Nations World Food Program. Its partner is the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. CCS is not endorsing the policies of United Nations or its partners, but the website provides students an opportunity to quiz themselves on a variety of subjects, and 10 grains of rice are donated to a hungry nation for each correct answer. The starfall site encourages students learning to read and young readers to read!

Fundraisers
The total earned from the Fruit Fundraiser was approximately $3,800. This amount is less than we have earned in previous years, but we are thankful for this addition to our general operating fund. Some students have offered to sell candy bars as a fund raiser. If you would like your child to sell candy bars, please let Mrs. Turner know, and we will get them a case to sell. Other ways you can help CCS financially is to save Campbell Soup Labels for Education and Box Tops for Education. There is a collection box for these in the office and in the cafeteria. In addition, if you have not linked your MVP card to Calvary Christian School, please go to www.foodlion.com and follow the instructions to link your card.

Thank You
I would like to thank all students and families for their part in making the Christmas Program one that honored God and reminded us of the “Reason for the Season”. Thank you, also, for the beautiful bouquet of flowers and the Christmas Bear filled with cookies, candy, and caramel popped corn. I was touched by your thoughtfulness, and I am truly blessed to be able to serve you at Calvary Christian School.
Mrs. Jensen
