Calvary Christian School

Calvary Christian School, a small, rural K-12, Christian school, is located in central Virginia just south of the James River in Buckingham County.

The mission of Calvary Christian School is to provide a Christ-centered, academically thorough education, whereby students find a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a fulfilled life through a program of excellence, that leads them to develop a receptive and obedient heart for the Word and work of God in their lives.

ODACS Competition
Calvary Christian School came in 3rd Place over all at the Southwest Regional Competition. Thank you to all the parents, family, and friends who provided transportation and came to support the students at the competition. All First Place Winners in Level II and Level III are eligible to attend State Competition in Richmond on March 26th .

Complimentary Kid’s Fun Fair Tickets
CCS received complimentary tickets to the Kid’s Fun Fair and Traveling Zoo. We are passing them on to you to use if you desire. This is not a fundraiser for CCS, and we are not making an endorsement of the Fun Fair.

Lunch Room News
To help us make cost savings wherever possible, please send plates, bowls, and utensils for your child if they are packing their lunches. The paper plates, bowls, and utensils in the snack bar are for those purchasing their lunch at the snack bar. Thanks for your help.

PE Schedule Change
Please note the following change for gym class. PE will be held on Wednesday, March 24th, not on Thursday that week.

Field Trip
The field trip to Farmville to see the presentation of Tom Sawyer by the Barter Players has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 15th. We will attend the 9:30 AM showing, and then have lunch in Farmville afterwards, arriving back to school around 1:00 PM for dismissal. Tickets cost $2.00. More information and permission slips will be sent home in April.

New Pastor At Calvary Baptist Church
Calvary Baptist Church voted on Sunday, February 28th to call Rev. Joshua Solovskoy as their Pastor. He met the students and staff and preached in chapel this past Thursday. Pastor Solovskoy is also currently working on his Doctorate at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and Graduate School in Lynchburg. He is married and has four sons.

Variety Show
Thank you to all the students who prepared and participated in the Variety Show. You were a blessing to those who were able to attend. Thank you, parents, family, and friends, for the generous offering received to help offset the cost of membership in ODACS and for registration costs for the ODACS competitions. Your prayers and support are so appreciated.
